Gallop into Market Rasen this Saturday to experience Britain’s Best Small Speciality Market for yourself. Hopefully the sun will be shining as you taste and shop your way around our historic Georgian market town, sampling all your favourite food and drink, gifts and goodies stalls in the Market Place with many more fabulous treats, sweets, arts and crafts in the Festival Hall too.
We are also delighted to welcome the AMAZING Party workshop back, so all the family can try their hands FREE at circus skills in the Market Place. Plus we’re incredibly grateful to our friends at Market Rasen Racecourse for the loan of some racing “props” , so that you can get up close and personal with horse racing paraphernalia like silks, and saddles and bridles to get in the Grand National mood. We’re even fortunate to have a bookmakers near to the Aston Arms on the Market Place so you don’t even have to miss out on placing your bets for the big race!
Keep your eyes peeled for Lincs Young Farmers who will be around and about with details of Market Rasen’s next race meeting on Sunday 14 April – grab a leaflet and you can receive admission into Tattersalls Enclosure for just £10 – normally £14! And of course, children under 18 are admitted free to our racecourse – another great reason to come back to Market Rasen next weekend too!
With 36 stalls expected in the Market Place and 20 in the Festival Hall ranging from popular favourites like Redhill Farm, Chapman’s Fishcakes, Jenny’s Jams, Parvins and Tom Woods to newcomers like Greenfield Bakers it promised to be a bumper field so be sure to come early and don’t forget to clip clop up and down the high street too – to shop with Market Rasen’s independent traders, cafes, tearooms, pubs and restaurant with plenty of FREE parking – click the link for a map.
Once again we’d like to invite local Instagrammers to come to Market Rasen, take and share photos of our market, although it’s not an official Instameet you’re very welcome to use the hashtags so we can use share in your photographic storytelling of our BIG events. We’ll be using #BIGAprilMarket please feel free to contribute!
